I think I’m going to start giving a one sentence blurb at the beginning of all of y reviews. I started with the Bronco Raptor, but here is a one sentence summation on the Ford Lightning

The Ford Lightning would be the only EV I would buy (with my own money).

It’s the only EV on the road today that seamlessly combines the simplicity of a ‘legacy’ vehicle with the added benefits of EVdom. Yes, they are other options to choose from but those options are either hilariously expensive, built by a toddler, is not a truck, cannot power your house, and/or has a ‘real world’ range of naught.

The Lightning solves all of those known EV problems. It’s downright a bargain compared to its peers, built Ford Tough, has unbelievable range and you operate it like a truck. There is no learning any method of driving from turning it on, to selecting a gear to changing the HVAC temperature. You just get in and drive!

Oh and it’s hilariously fun to flog, has commodious interior room and is eerily silent.

Let’s go ahead and break it down:

Range

One of the most efficient vehicles I have ever driven. Seriously. It doesn’t go through electrons and it when it does the Regen braking is bleeding excellent to the point, if you are driving a short distance, you can recover ALL of the power you just used.

So Fast

The Ford Lightning shouldn’t be this fast. It’s the size of a cathedral and having a 0-60 of 3.8 seconds defies the laws of the universe.

Ease

Most EVs are designed to ‘wow’ the consumers with an overwhelming amount of tech. Keyword there is overwhelming. Trying to figure out how to turn the AC on is akin to learning Python.

The Lightning, on the other hand, drives and operates like a F150. Which is to say, anyone can get in the Lightning and just drive!

Comfort

Our Lightning wasn’t even graced with the Luxury package, just a set of cloth seats and you know what? I’m glad because those damn things are comfortable! Feeling like a modern day version of a Lazy Boy recliner, you just sink in a bit and well…comfy!

The Lightning, with its added batteries, helps dampen the Frame Judder that is prevalent with this generation F-Series. Nary a wiggle can be belt going over anything and everything. It’s just comfortable all around!

Room for all the activities

The interior footprint of the Bronco Raptor is just plain fantastic. Easily swallowing a family of four with no issues along with a HUGE cargo area to boot. It’s packaged so well, that the Bronco Raptor maybe the best Trunk or Treat vehicle you can buy today!

The question I have to ask is the following:

If you want an EV but do not want the limitations of an EV, why get anything else?
