The 2019 Acura RDX has redefined Acura.  Yes, you read that right.  No not the NSX.  It is the RDX.  Because it is attainable and it is downright brilliant.  Let me break it down for you.  It’s quiet when you want it to be.  It’s fast when you need it to be.  It can turn into a canyon carver when you wish it to be.  On top of all of that…it can carry your entire family plus your Costco run with room to spare.  It’s the literal jack of all trades but the RDX does master them all

...and helping claw the RDX into and out of corners like a rabid cat.

The RDX is equipped with Acura’s brilliant SH-AWD system but dial the Dynamic Controller to Sport Plus and it comes alive.  Flinging torque to whatever wheel needs it the most and helping claw the RDX into and out of corners like a rabid cat.  The traction is nothing short of ferocious and yes, I am well aware I am talking about a 4000 pound crossover here with a giant panoramic roof.  It doesn’t matter.  You don’t feel that mass behind the wheel…you feel grip.

The RDX is powered by the same motor found in the Accord but in this guise making 272 horsepower and 280 ft/lbs of torque.  It helps launch the RDX in 0-60 5.7 seconds.  Steering feel is linear and direct.  Suspension tuning is flawless in any drive mode setting and the brakes are strong.

Dial it back into Comfort mode and you’re calm.  The RDX transforms itself into an impeccable luxury crossover.  It’s quiet, comfortable, and supremely pleasant to sit in.  The cabin materials are first rate and the new infotainment system is stellar.  As a father of two small children packaging is vital to me.  I was able to fit a convertible car seat, an infant car seat and my wife all in the second row (comfortably mind you) with room to spare.  The hatch opens up to a massive space and the load floor has an ingenious integrated storage compartment for groceries.  Acura has thought of everything with the RDX and it shows.

So how do I sum up the 2019 Acura RDX?  To quote our Creative Director ‘’I have never been so reluctant to give up the keys’’
