Soul.  Soul is what transforms a car from a simple mode of transportation to an object you love.  Honda seemingly lost it’s soul in the early part of the new century but it’s back now with a vengeance!  With the new Civic Type R, Si and this new Accord…Honda has regained it’s footing and has brought sport back into its ethos.

The 2018 Honda Accord exudes a road presence that is almost unrivaled in it’s class.  It’s a true stunner that doesn’t stop on the inside.  The cabin in airy and spacious, the infotainment has Apple CarPlay and the road noise is held to a minimum.  The Accord also has a beautifully rendered HUD display, ‘jeweled’ LED headlamps and NFC for quick smartphone connectivity.

So it has all the toys and a damn good interior.  But how is it on the road?  That’s actually it’s best trick.

It’s excellent.  Steering is perfectly weighted, brake feel is superb and the chassis just begs to be thrown into a corner.  The motor on the other hand is whole another level.  It is powered by a derivative of the Type R motor and it’s making 252 horsepower and 273 ft/lbs of torque.  I know that may not sound like a lot but the midrange punch is intoxicating.

So all in all the 2018 Honda Accord is a winner in every category that matters.  Now is that enough to convince you to buy one?  I sure hope so...because this car deserves a home in your driveway.
