I have been nervously wracking my brain and ‘The Google’ for the best suspension setup for my Project S4. While it is easy to cheap out and buy the cheapest setup you can find the end result of your cheapness will leave you kicking yourself in the ass. The subsequent cratering of ride quality, detrimental difference in handling and overall ‘feel’ of your precious car can be ruined if you don’t do your research. It’s especially pronounced on a luxury sports sedan like this Audi S4.

To me, if you’re going to alter anything on a car it needs to be something that feels like an organic progression of what the factory engineers…uhhh…engineered.

Following that line of thinking leads us to 034 Motorsports. They designed, engineered and built their lowering springs to compliment the factory dampers to an exacting degree. They also track tested and road tested the springs to ensure that handling along with ride quality did not suffer. What they ended up with is their Dynamic + setup and after a few hundred miles on them…i can tell you the following:

They are fucking excellent!

How excellent? Well the best aftermarket suspension I have ever ran on a vehicle was on my beloved MKV GTI. She ran a set of the industry benchmark…KW V3s. The ride quality, handling and complacency were not just good…it rode better than the stock suspension ever did! Granted, all of that came at a price tag that befitted it’s demeanor. Now that has changed…this 034 Motorsport Dynamic + achieves that same level of ride, handling and complacency of the V3s BUT at a fraction of the price.

Now, I know what you are thinking. ‘oh this idiot just got paid to say that and 034 Motorsports gave him a set for free ninetynine. whatta sell out blah blah blah’. Yeah…no.

While I’m not an imbecile and if someone wants to pay me to write something nice…fucking damnit I will (like every part review you read from auto journalists). This is not the case. These were bought with my own money and I’m here to tell you they are dialed in perfectly!

The wheels are the same story, bought with my own money, from the lovely folks over at Nemesis Autosport. Now I have spent literally months looking every wheel brand under the sun for a perfect set of wheels. Unlike in years past where there were about 10 wheel companies…now there are literally dozens of companies to choose from and the price ranges therein can make your eyes water.

A set of wheels is something you cannot cheap out on because the end result can be a disaster. From a simple bend to a catastrophic shattering…

-knowing how your wheels are made
-where they are made
-who actually made them is vital

As more of these ‘fly by night’ wheel companies emerge with their appealing designs, colors , sizing and low price…you have to ask yourself the following: ‘how and why is that so cheap?’

Chances are they are cheap for a reason! From the quality of the metals used, to the way the wheels are manufactured, to the fact they are probably made in China or Taiwan…all of which can be a reason for concern. Now some companies bypass that by stating ‘all of our wheels are assembled in the USA’.. Well whoopteedoo! Read those words carefully. ‘Assembled’ in the USA. That means they are put together in the USA not manufactured.

So I say all of that to say this…this is why I went with BBS. They are manufactured in Germany, the CHR wheels were the first ever wheel to be ‘flow formed’ and BBS quality is second to none. The end result is well…let’s let the pictures speak for themselves:
