Project Golf R

So…I bought a Golf

Why you ask?

Simple!

The used car market (as we all know) in this year of the Baby Jesus 2021…is well unintelligible. So if you happen to have a late model vehicle that is properly maintained, chances are you could net a decent profit.

Which is what I did with the S4…

I basically I got an offer that I couldn’t refuse and so I didn’t!

But why did I get a Golf R? Well, because the best car I have ever owned was my 2008 VW GTI. Yes, I’m being serious. That little sucker did everything so damn well and did it in such a refined, fun and eager manner that no other vehicle I have had since then has come close. I will wax poetic on the MKV GTI at a moment’s notice for hours on end until someone yells at me to stop.

So when it came time for me to get another car, the answer was another simple one:

A Porsche!

Wait. What?

Yeah, I went out got myself a Cayenne GTS because I wanted room to fit the kiddos, I wanted a V8 and I wanted handling. So a Cayenne GTS fit the bill perfectly! Well almost perfectly. Just the particular one I bought was in hilariously awful condition and almost tried to kill me. So needless to say, if you’re in the market for a Porsche…go ahead and disregard Porsche Austin.

So anyhoo, I got the rolling pile of fecal matter bought back by that moronic dealership and obviously needed another car. Then my beloved said to me the following:

‘‘You always talk about your GTI. Just get another one but step up to the R’’

So I did. The very second I sat in the R’s seats, I felt like I was home.

Am I going to keep this? I honestly don’t know. The longest I have had a car was about 6 years and that was the aforementioned MKV GTI.

Once the market stabilizes, I maybe on the hunt again for either a Macan Turbo or a Audi S7. The ultimate dream would be a 2016-2017 Audi S8 Plus. But time will tell and in the meantime…I’m going to enjoy the hell out of my German Box!

The aforementioned rolling death trap.
