How do you make the best sports car in the world better? It’s easy for a manufacturer to add horsepower or stiffer suspension and call it day but it’s damn near impossible to make something actually drive better. Better means, not just better handling but better drivability, livability and fun! How in the hell do you that?

Well, let me tell you what Mazda did. First they bolted on a new steering rack, which through some witchcraft has actual better feel and accuracy than the old unit. Then the reworked the rear differential, so when braking the rear stays more planted and powering out of corners is a gripisfaying affair. In other words, powering out of corners is near Porsche like experience, for a fraction of the price. Then they tweaked the front end with a subtle updates. Lastly, they gave it the obligatory bigger infotainment screen. BUT thankfully they left the gorgeous, easy to read and timeless analog gauges.

All of those tweaks add up to something that is near impossible. Making the ND Miata…better. On the highway the revised steering pays dividends. The old unit gave the Miata a ‘nervous’ feeling on the highways, this new unit is solid and it reveals the Miata to be a surprisingly stable thing at speed. The new diff, makes corner carving a delicious experience and that can go from grip to slide with a squeeze of your right foot.

What this 2025 Miata represents is continual improvements to one of the best sports cars ever made. The Miata is not just ‘the answer to everything’, it’s the answer to what ailes you. You want to feel better? Take a quick spin in a Miata. You want to feel the unbridled freedom behind the wheel? Drop the top and go for a drive in a Miata. You want to feel alive? Well there is no other car like the Miata.

Lets go ahead and break it down:

The Great

- IT’S ALIVE

No seriously, it feels alive. It moves with you, talks to you and responds to you. No other car is like it.

- Gearbox

One of the best manuals on the road today. It’s crispy like a bag of Fritos, it’s precise like a opthamalic glass lens and it’s as easy to use as a pair shoes

- Styling

A small, affordable, drop top sports car. What more do you want?

- Efficiency

This lil sucker got damn near 35 MPG on our week with it. That’s 35 MPG with city, highway and two mountains runs!!

The Good

- Soul Red

Hot dayum that color is spectacular. The best factory Red paint in all of automotivedom! It’s like Candy Apple Red, mixed with a black pearl. It’s breathtaking.

- Gauges

Oh dear God in heaven, how have i missed analog gauges. The gauges in the 2025 Miata look brilliant. Mazda. DON’T EVER CHANGE CHANGE FROM ANALOG TO DIGITAL IN THE MIATA

- Performance

Everything from the handling, to the braking to the accerfelation…everything on the 2025 Miata is unparaelled.

The Want

- Auto Rev Match

Since I suck, I want auto-rev matching on the gearbox.

The Ugly

-Your Face

Your face is ugly

The Overall

The answer is and will always be: Miata.

The 2025 Miata just reinforces that.
