This is the 2020 Ford Expedition King Ranch. Let’s ignore the cowboy-ey interior for a second…actually let’s go ahead and ignore the cowboy theme in general. It’s a bit too much on the inside but the outside looks great! The dual tone contrast paint scheme and the 22 inch wheels on this trim looks spectacular. Overall, the Expedition is a good Full Size SUV.

Actually screw it…it’s very good…with splashes of greatness.  There are only a few issues and in the grand scheme of things they are minor.  The Expedition does everything so well in fact, that I’m frankly confused if you don’t get one.

Let me see if I break it down in a concise manner.  Below are some modern car shopping needs and how the Expedition stacks up.

  • Comfort?  It’s ride is squishy and coddling even with 22 inch wheels!

  • Space?  We had the standard wheelbase it will still large enough to fit 7 people and cargo.

  • Power?  The 3.5 liter ecoboost is a powerhouse.  It’s quick that is bordering on fast.  Is it easy to drive?  You can drive, park and reverse this with one hand.  It’s almost effortless.

  • Luxurious?  It’s not Navigator luxurious but it’s on par with it’s competition.

  • Tech?  It’s loaded to the gills with tech.  360 camera, adaptive cruise and lane keep assist, heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, 3 zone climate control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wireless Charging. Self Parking…and it’s all so easy to use.

What are the issues?  Honestly…just the damn switchgear.  The HVAC controls along with the Parking Brake and Foot Pedal Adjustments are too small, too close together and too far away.  Trying to engage anything, requires taking your eyes off the road for a painfully long time.

Overall:  I’ll say it again for those in the back.  It does everything so well that if you’re in the market for a Full Size SUV…i’m confused if you don’t get a Ford Expedition.
