Power, Capability and Technology. Those three attributes define the 2018 Ford Expedition.
Power: 3.5 liter Twin Turbo V6. Those specs have been around for a while. But for this year it’s been massaged, bumped and kicked up a few notches to deliver 400 horsepower and 480 ft/lbs of torque. That combination of EcoBoost power and the new 10 speed automatic transforms the Expedition. It’s a willing onramp hustler and with a 5.9 second 0-60 time…it can embarrass most cars at a stoplight as well.
Capability: We sampled the ‘short’ wheelbase Expedition and I’m using quotes here because it’s still gargantuan. But unlike the last generation…all the space actually goes to use on the inside! People hauling in the 2018 Ford Expedition is a sheer pleasure. There is plenty of room for everyone and you can actually fit full size humans in the third row…along with their luggage! The interior is put together beautifully with plenty of storage and SYNC3 needs to win all the awards for just being brilliant to use.
Technology: The 2018 Expedition is brimming with so much technology that trying to compare spec sheets of its competitors is almost laughable. Here are just a few examples: All aluminum body, 360 degree, trailer backup assist, adaptive cruise control with creep and full stop capability, and panoramic sunroof….among many others.
So how do I sum up the 2018 Ford Expedition? It’s the best full size SUV you can buy on the market today.
